This Morning

This morning as the storm leaves
A ray of sun
Pale, wan,
Then strong bright light
A brilliant chime
Flashes brief on the ground;
A glance and gone.
A single snowflake, lone,
Drifting down
Softly landing shines
On the limb
Above.
A squirrel runs by
Azaleas waiting patiently.

Azaleas Waiting Patiently
